My Best friend Lisa Maris was so kind to throw me a lunch in honor of the twins in Huntington Beach! It was a wonderful afternoon, at the Hilton on the beach. The weather was perfect, the decor perfect, and most importantly the company was the best. The attendees are in the picture above- (from left to right)- Erika, Lisa, Toni, me, and Joanna. Little joybug is in the front (Lisa's daughter Joy). :)
On the twins front, I was shocked to find myself on "complete pelvic rest" and "modified bed rest" this week. I went in for what was supposed to be a routine Dr. appointment and it turned out to be anything but. The good news is that I am not at risk to deliver in the next two weeks. I am also housebound and have to lay on my sides all day. It is not complete bed rest but pretty close- I can only walk for necessary things like potty breaks, fixing a sandwich, going back up to bed. Thankfully I can shower, because being as big as I am in the middle of the summer, I tend to get sweaty!!!:)
My Dr. also told me that my uterus is measuring as big as someone who is 2 weeks overdue (this is very common for twins). The boys look great, they are rapidly gaining weight. They were both 4 pounds a piece last Monday at their last check. Their heartbeats are right in the range they need to be, and my Dr. keeps saying I have "Two happy babies in there". Hopefully they remain happy in here for another 6 or so weeks, we really want them to go to full term. It is the best for their overall health. Although I may have to continue to lie on my booty for the next month and a half!
Another development is the boys have begun to hiccup in the womb, and it is so trippy to feel that every day! They are pretty active, but not too much so that I can't get a good stretch of sleep. They sleep for a couple of hours then are awake for a couple of hours. They are good boys, it is my back and ribs that are preventing me from sound sleep!
Sorry for the long post, I will try to update a belly pic next week when I feel up to making myself look presentable. It's hard to dress up when your final destination is the couch! :) Love to all.
